It is essential to promote the academic achievement of the ELL subgroup at Prussing. Below are additional strategies and accommodations to use inside the classroom. ELL students have the right to have access to the same content

class should follow a solid structure
frequent opportunities to engage and participate in learning
providing consistent feedback
activities that reflect review and practice
opportunities to interact and work with other students
frequent assessments
pre-reading strategies: encourage students to look at the pictures and make predictions.
recognize and honor diversity of race, language, and ethnicity.
if possible, sit ELL student next to another student who speaks the native language

Identify similarities and difference between English and students' native language
build students' attainment levels in their native language
Identify and clarify vocabulary words and passages within texts to enhance comprehension
extended time to complete tasks/assignments/assessments
alternate responses: allow students to respond orally, using pictures, or in writing
simplify and clearly state instructions
